21" x 28" folding color lithographic map with additional hand water color in very good to fine condition. Shows signs of repair and conservation on reverse, very stable and clean. Map shows no signs of damage and is bright and detailed. A very good and rare example of the ephemeral maps made by Southern Pacific during the heyday of railroad travel. This item produced and personalized by SP for the upcoming convention of Christians in the city in 1897 . Red lithographic run shows transit within the city (controlled by SP) with a comprehensive legend of businesses and important locations along the right edge of the map. a promotional directing as much revenue as possible from each visitor to SP.
