1850 View of San Francisco from Henry Bill

14" x 14" color lithographic view in very good to fine condition. Some acid toning around perimeter of map from past framing , not effecting image. Presented as a folding image tipped within a book , fold lines evident. The view was created by T.T.Johnson, printed by P.S. Duval in Philadelphia and Published by Henry Bill in Sam Maunders " Treasury of History, being the History of the World". This is the first edition of "History of the World" to include an original image tipped within its frontise, continued until 1858, but with this image only for the first edition . A great rarity .
