1850 2 Views of Sacramento from the Opposite Shore

2 pcs each 5 x 11" woodblock or Lithogaphic views of the City of Sacramento before it was the state capitol, but instead the important transfer and supply station heading to the Gold Fields towards the east. Fine imagery and ephemeral in nature, it shows a very rare and unique image of Sacramento before its great fire of November 1850 and a scene a little bit before that around January of 1850, looking up J street, across the waterfront. Fine condition on both of these items , coming from illustrated newspapers of the period, selling the western news to the east and beyond into Europe in local languages.
