8" x 10" lithographic view in fine condition. slight paper repair along bottom edge . An early and very rare view from the shore of Yerba Buena cove, along the spear st waterfront leading to Rincon Point , the terminus of the cove . A view looking north west to nob hill and north across the cove to the ships at anchor, being north of market within the cove, off Clark's Point & Commercial Wharf aka Long Wharf. The tents are indicative of Happy Valley in this context, a flat land between Rincon Point and the Sand Dunes of Market St at 3rd. This area would become the boat yards and Iron yards of San Francisco for the next 75 years . Engraved by R. Rohrich and published and printed in Prague, Chec republic by C.W. Medaw & Co. in late 1849
