From the Mitchell's Atlas for 1848 with maps produced by the partnership of Cowperthwaite & Desilver in their final edition. This map is just a little late showing the hand colored information of an 1846 Map , but produced in 1848 with an updated boundary hand delineated across the bottom of the map around latitude 32 from Arizona to the California coast for this 1848 post Mexican American War edition by Mitchell . This atlas and this map were among the few reliable map resources for miners coming to California in 1848 and represents that history well.
