Product Details
8.5" x 11" lithograph with original hand water color in fine condition. A fine example of early American lithography by George Endicott, from a illustration by James Hill, with superlative expert color , including a gum arabic topping, by anonymous artist doing "piece work" under Endicott. Some folios show light foxing from past archiving and although the vast majority are very clean , one should use ones eye to look for flaws on each folio scan. A disbound plate from library de-accession , an original print archived for academic reasons by Ware Memorial Library at Columbia University and sold at auction to Ernst Gerber in the 1970's. Attained by us at auction . Most examples have library blind stamps in compression and ink visible outside of image
