Product Details

Plate #20 showing the process of fishing .

5.5" x 8.5" copper engraved view with original hand water color in fine condition. Some chance of toning , foxing or other flaws from age and storage in these otherwise clean , stable and really excellent examples . Bright colors and realistic , detailed engraving produced these accurate and often emulated images of the indigenous Peoples of North America within the United States with strong emphasis on the native tribes of Florida; Creeks, Seminole and Alapachee, within our inventory. These were made right before of the Seminole wars and first trail of tears and are from the French viewpoint , for the French market and in French. From an edition of Etats-Unis D'Amerique by Mr. R. De Rochelle, published in 1837 , Ex-libris from Franc Carteron, Doctor of medicine as per blind stamp on title page (not included)
