Product Details

7 x 10" copper engraved image with original hand water color by the artist. Often emulated and even faked, Robert Cruikshank is the first English satirist to survive his king and thus be celebrated as the anti-establishment of his time. Very rare and desirable, these were bought at auction and are bright and clean examples of engraving and coloring produced by Robert personally in London in 1810. Fine condition and matted to 9 x 12" for ease of use, storage and shipping.

Client: Mr Lattitut, I find there are several charges in my bill which i don't recollect incurring , particularly one for 6 pound/ 8 pence for going to Southwork, when none of my business lay that way ?"

My Lattitut (Lawyer): "Oh Sir, that was for fetching the turkey and chine from the Nags Heads Inn in the borough, which you was kind enough to send to me as a present, out of the country! "
