Famous Champ de Mars Central and focused.

21.5" x 28" Copper Engraved Architectural Comparative Sheet by Jean Nicolas Louis Durand in his "Recueil Et Parallele des Edifices en Tout Genre Anciens et Moderne" , produced and published in 1799 for L'Ecole Polytechnique and the instruction of the subject. " A Comparative Collection of Buildings, Ancient and Modern, remarkable for the Beauty, Grandeur and Singularity" was a first for its successful comparison of buildings great distances from each other which would require months of travel to make a personal comparison, that would be still lesser than these produced by Durand. Among the great illustrators / Architects to travel with Napoleon during several of his campaigns and documented the buildings on the spot as a spoil of War , along with relics returned to the Louvre'. Condition on this folio is fine being a period hand laid grand folio with a copper engraved detail . Grand and Complete these examples came from Harvard University Law Library De-Accession , sold to the Earnst Gerber Estate and to us through auction
