12" x 18.75" Original Boards containing 33 folios compiling 65 pages of printed text amalgamated with and in support of copper engraved views, landfalls and maps in fine conserved condition. Full breakdown of reconstruction presented as image #6. This piece came to us from a private maritime collector , General Dubois, Commander of the Fort Baker Nike missile sites on San Francisco Bay before retirement. It was stab sewn with these boards, no spine and without flyleaves. Bumped severely and showing some paper loss evident and most importantly with none of the double page charts known to be included with this publication. It was however INTACT regarding the text pages in full continuity and support of the maps and chart evident, allowing a complete read through and use along the eastern seaboard of the Americas, despite the loss of the very desirable double page charts. An excellent repaired and reconstruction on this set of maps, charts & text used by Merchant ships, Pirates, Royal Vessels and Whalers at this time along these waters. A great maritime relic from 1798
