8 x 11.5" copper engraved map of the Tibet area. Fine condition with some off color staining but clean and eye appealing. The map includes part of the Ganges River in the lower left and the Bautisus River ,Ptolemy's name for the Yellow River. Published in "Geografia cioe Descrittione Universale della Terra" Gio. Battista & Giorgio Galignani Fratelli. Venice, 1598, First edition in Italian prepared by Giovanni Antonio Magini. This was an atlas that copied Ptolemy's maps, initially creating new information of the ancient world. From the estate of Brian Wilson.
