Tabula Sexta Asiae de Morbus Arubum
Made by L. Fries after Martin Waldesmeuller for M. Servetus in 1541. Based off of the Ptolemaic model of cartography. The editor of this edition, Servetus, was tried for heresy in 1553 and burned at the stake at Calvin's (leader of the Protestant movement)orders. Many copies of this atlas were burned as a result and few remain. A rare piece and in fine condition. Framed with conservation grade materials.
